Blueback Learn to Freedive Wellbeing Journey

$1,350 per person

Seasonal intakes: Spring, Summer, Autumn

Limited places per season. 3-month journey.

From land to sea, the Learn to Freedive Wellbeing Journey is Blueback's seasonal immersion in freediving as a practice for body and mind. Across the season, you'll move step by step from breath and stillness on land to confident, relaxed freediving in the pool and ocean — guided by our professional Blueback Freedive Coaches and supported by a welcoming community.

The Journey weaves together functional breathing and pranayama, yoga and mindfulness, freediving theory, technique and safety, pool training, and guided ocean freediving — one thread, unhurried, across a whole season.

Open to anyone aged 12 and over with confident swimming ability and good health, no freediving experience is needed. It's a complete pathway for beginners and a welcoming introduction to the underwater world.

If freediving and breathwork have been recommended to support your wellbeing alongside professional care, this offers a gentle, trauma-informed approach led by experienced professionals.

  • Begin on land: functional breathing, pranayama and stillness — learning to settle the nervous system and listen to the body.

  • Build in the pool: relaxation, efficient movement, static and dynamic apnea in a calm, supported weekly setting.

  • Deepen with practice: yoga, mindfulness and freediving theory woven through the season.

  • Arrive in the ocean: guided freediving with our coaches, at your own pace, carried by the group, building open water confidence. The program  culminates in a boat-based freedive day at Wadjemup-Rottnest Island allowing you a slow but strong consolidation of skills and capacity before experiencing a day of exploration underwater as a freediver.

  • Belong: train alongside a small seasonal cohort that starts together and finishes together.
